Creating Consistent Characters in Sugarlab

Character creation in Sugarlab is crucial for consistent ID-style or portrait images and is straightforward once you understand the basics. This guide simplifies the process for beginners, ensuring your character remains recognizable across prompts.

Getting Started

Start by navigating to Create Character in the main menu for detailed customization or use the Create Page for faster iterations. The Create Page is ideal for quick testing, while Create Character offers more control over details.

Defining Your Character

In the Tag Library, select tags that define your character’s appearance, such as "long brown hair," "green eyes," or "smiling." For the initial character image, focus on a high-quality ID-style or portrait image of the face, as the AI scans only the face during creation. Tags handle all other attributes, so avoid non-facial tags like "full body" or "ass" to prevent confusion.

Generate a test image with a simple prompt, like "Portrait with neutral lighting," to check the face’s quality. If the image looks clear and detailed, remove the prompt ("Portrait with neutral lighting,") to keep the character versatile, then save the face and tags in Sugarlab. A example of what you should get is shown below:

Testing Character Consistency

Test your character by applying it to new prompts, such as "Character in a sunset garden." Choose between two faceswap options:

  • Essential Faceswap: Versatile, supports explicit content (e.g., blowjobs, cumshots).

  • Enhanced Faceswap: Better for facial consistency in portraits, but cannot make blowjobs.

Generate images to ensure the character’s facial features remain consistent. If consistency is poor, try adjusting tags or selecting a different face, then retest with varied prompts. You can also faceswap after generation to try to keep more consistency.

Below are some examples of what a good character should look like and the conistency you should expect.
